We're Derith and Patrick, the husband-and-wife team behind Artistic Florals, alongside a small bench of designers who make the whole studio run. We've been designing in San Diego since 1986, and somewhere between the first wedding and the thousandth corporate centerpiece, we figured out what we're good at:

The difference between a florist and a floral artist
A florist arranges flowers. A floral artist starts with the vessel, the room, the linens, the season, and the person…and builds from there.
That’s why no two designs from our studio look the same even when they’re built with the same flowers. Our design team can put together the same compote three times in a row and somehow give you three different arrangements. Some people call that ingenuity. Some people call it instinct. Either way, it’s the thing you’re hiring us for.

Texture as the Foundation # Texture# | Pincushion proteas, the right vessel, a little negative space…this is where good design starts. More flowers crammed into a vase is what happens when no one’s thinking about the design.
